چکیده

Abstract This research article addresses the pitting corrosion resistance of FGM walls fabricated by Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). The wall is created layer-by-layer transfer molten metal in an uninterrupted manner with little heat input using CMT process. Pitting tests were carried out as per ASTM G48-11 standard on specimens extracted from Inconel 825, interfaces, and SS316L regions wall. immersed ferric chloride hexahydrate solution for 24, 48, 72 h. It was found that interface made 825 more resistant to than specimens. weight loss measured 0.462 g, 0.1087 0.1349 g SS316L, interface, specimens, respectively. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) used analyze products at pit. order was: > SS316L.

Fabricating Superior NiAl Bronze Components through Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing

Cast nickel aluminum bronze (NAB) alloy is widely used for large engineering components in marine applications due to its excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Casting porosity, as well as coarse microstructure, however, are accompanied by a decrease in mechanical properties of cast NAB components. Although heat treatment, friction stir processing, and fusion welding were im...

Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing of AZ31 Magnesium Alloy: Grain Refinement by Adjusting Pulse Frequency

Wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) offers a potential approach to fabricate large-scale magnesium alloy components with low cost and high efficiency, although this topic is yet to be reported in literature. In this study, WAAM is preliminarily applied to fabricate AZ31 magnesium. Fully dense AZ31 magnesium alloy components are successfully obtained. Meanwhile, to refine grains and obtain go...

Investigation of microstructure in additive manufactured Inconel 625 by spatially resolved neutron transmission spectroscopy

Non-destructive testing techniques based on neutron imaging and diffraction can provide information on the internal structure of relatively thick metal samples (up to several cm), which are opaque to other conventional non-destructive methods. Spatially resolved neutron transmission spectroscopy is an extension of traditional neutron radiography, where multiple images are acquired simultaneousl...

Ceramic-Based 4D Components: Additive Manufacturing (AM) of Ceramic-Based Functionally Graded Materials (FGM) by Thermoplastic 3D Printing (T3DP)

In our study, we investigated the additive manufacturing (AM) of ceramic-based functionally graded materials (FGM) by the direct AM technology thermoplastic 3D printing (T3DP). Zirconia components with varying microstructures were additively manufactured by using thermoplastic suspensions with different contents of pore-forming agents (PFA), which were co-sintered defect-free. Different materia...
